This is an important message from the Village of Lions Bay

                      NOTICE TO RESIDENTS

 The Bears Are Back......

 

Bears have been sighted in the village recently and residents are reminded to:

-        store garbage and recycling indoors or in an outdoor bear-proof enclosure,

-        put garbage and recycling at curbside after 5 AM on the morning of pickup,

-        do not put cooked foods or meat in compost,

-        do not operate freezers outside,

-        feed pets indoors or don't leave uneaten pet food outdoors,

-        clean BBQ's well after use,

-        keep bird seed and hummingbird feeders out of reach of bears, and

-        if a bear is sighted call the Bear Hotline at 604-661-9969 to report details or receive information about reducing bear attractants.
