2010 Lions Hike

 

All are welcome / including children

 

Date: Saturday, September 4, 2010

(weather permitting)

 

Meeting place: Sunset Drive

(please walk/car pool or be dropped off)

 

Sign in time:     @  7:30AM

Starting time:  @ 8.00 AM

 

Hikers need to sign out after the hike

 Sheets will be posted @ the kiosk

 

The hike consists of six (6)

sections/stages.

 

1st stage; hike to the beginning of Trudi's trail  

15 - 20 min.

 

2nd stage; hike to the junction in the road  

25- 40 min.

 

3rd stage; hike to Marcel Andrie's Harvey Creekbridge

crossing  

1.00 hrs.

 

4th stage; hike through the forest until we hitthe tree line  

1.30 hrs.

 

5th stage; hike through the open area to reach theridge  

1.30 hrs.

 

Due to danger and safety reasons the final route 

6^th stage to the West Lion will be completed by

experienced hikers only.

 

The estimated times can differ depending how fit

hikers are.

The Lions hike will take anywhere from 7 - 11 hours

 

Elevation gain; 1300m / HighPoint; 1575m
