Well today was Easter Sunday once again, which for most is probably a lot more about chocolate and easter egg hunts than actual religeous context. I for one am the father of two small children, a four year old boy tosh and a six year old girl trinity. This year was by far the most excited easter for them. As in previous years my wife charlene has not given them any chocolate or sugary treats. It was plastic eggs filled with nuts and dried fruit for the first five easter's. But this easter we broke and allowed them to enjoy with the rest of the kids.
It was a great turn out At the Lions Bay beach, where more showed
up this year than in the past three or four years. The weather was
unreal as the sun came out a half hour after the hunt was on. They had
it set up nicely for the smaller kids, 1 to 4 year old hunted at the
top of the playground area, and the older kids were sent down to find
chocolate in the lower area.
Save on foods donated all the chocolate that was put out, so a big thank you to them.
A table was set up for the kids to play with some crafts, which
involved empty egg shells being filled with soil and grass seeds. Very
cool idea. Also some games were played. A classic egg on the spoon
race, trying to get back without losing your egg.
Freshly cut fruit was also put out along with bottled water. This was a nice addition and appreciated by most
All in all im sure there are a few tummy aches in the bay tonight, but
what a great day filled with laughter and smiles. I for one can't wait
till next year, and i didnt even eat any chocolate.
