In Summer, the outdoors in Lions Bay is particularly to be enjoyed, be it in our gardens, on our trails in the forest or on the mountain, at the tennis courts, at the Beach, or (for the more hardy) IN the water. My neighbour Kathrin Mueller sent me the following note and photo:
Four of us swam from Lions Bay Beach to Brunswick Beach and back on Sunday morning, July 20, 2008, a distance of about 3km. We took a bit over an hour with several stops on the way to admire our amazing mountains, gleaming in the sunshine, and the beautiful waterfront homes along the shore. The sunny weather of the previous week had warmed the water to a quite comfortable temperature, but we all sped up when swimming past the mouth of Harvey Creek, feeling a big chill from the snow melting up in the mountains. After the swim, our West and North Vancouver friends joined us for brunch, admiring once more the unbeatable Lions Bay views.
We all enjoyed the swim tremendously and plan to do it again one day. (By Kathrin).
