On Saturday, September 6, 2008, a team of volunteers coordinated by Eric Fleury (Haley & Marina's dad) went out to clean Lions Bay Beach and Kelvin Grove Beach. This event was sponsored by the TD Great Canadian Cleanup and the Vancouvewr Aquarium. Thanks for the garbage bags, recycling bags and gloves, which were donated. Not to mention some great tshirts! ...con't 
A record of the items collected went on data cards. These cards are
then used to see what types of litter are most prevalent and
problematic in our area.
Here is what we found on the beaches: 96 cigarette butts, 48 food
wrappers, 26 caps and lids, 15 beverage cans, 15 glass beverage
bottles, 14 plastic bags, 21 different types of building supplies,
rusty nails, rope, 13 straws, 1 cigarette lighter and plastic
sheeting. Approximately 100 pounds of garbage was collected.

(Trudi), LOUTET (Susan), KAZEMI (Daryoush), and PEAT (Jennifer &
Maya).
