Bear Resistant Garbabe Bins Available

Lions Bay residents interested in bear-resistant bins for garbage storage

The City of Coquitlam completed their pilot project to determine which of three bear resistant bins worked most effectively while being easy to use, and the locally distributed Rollins bins won.  Lions Bay’s waste management contract does not include emptying bins with attached lids, so these bear-resistant bins can be used for storage only.  On garbage morning the refuse bags would need to be transferred to a bin with a separate lid before moving to road-side.

Hopefully our waste management contract will soon include bear resistant bins, so that these bins could be handled roadside.
