Bear Watchers,
 
A very large bear entered a home on Brunswick Beach Road about 9:30 pm through an open patio door into the kitchen.  The bear opened the fridge and ate some muffins and bread before being discovered and running off.  A Conservation Officer visited the home but the bear was long gone and no immediate action was taken, other than advice to keep doors closed.  Apparently this family had barbequed earlier and the odour was still strong.
 
Please keep your doors closed, especially to the kitchen or food storage areas.  Keep your barbeques clean and completely burn off all meat residue or the several bears roaming the Village will be visiting you! The Conservation Officer Service placed a culvert trap near Brunswick Beach Road this afternoon.  The trap is baited and will be closely monitored to ensure the bear doesn't remain entrapped for long before being transported.
