Congratulations Lions Bay!
Over the last several months we’ve seen tremendous growth in the interactivity between community members and the lions bay publications; Lions Bay Community News and lionsbay.net.
Many of you are regularly logging on to lionsbay.net and reviewing the news, commentary and other information that is regularly updated. A number of you have taken the time to register (10% of total lions bay residents) and some of you that register are contributing news, stories, comments, event listings, classified listings and website links. Here’s a few examples:
• Val MacKay contributed a beautiful story in remembrance of Duncan MacPhee. Ten other people, from as far away as Australia, added a personal comment to Val’s article
• Real estate agents, Dale Falconer and Kevin O’Toole have ensured you can find their websites and services in the Links section and in the classifieds listings
• Stanley Wu’s local exercise program including times and dates has been added to the event calendar
• Bill Kimmeit’s poems are contributed monthly to the Interest section
• Carol Conlin provides a written transcript of each and every council meeting (except those that are in-camera) for those interested in the local government “scene”
Here’s a few facts about usage from our publications:
• Print circulation – 650
• Average number of articles in print - 40
• Viewers per month on lionsbay.net (3 month average) – 2300
• Number of pages we serve to these viewers per day – 1243
• Most visited directory link – Greyhound Bus Transportation
• Average Time online – 8 minutes
• The print product is created from articles you submit on lionsbay.net
• This is not a village of Lions Bay sponsored publication
So, for those of you who are active participants, please continue to do so. If you have not participated, please add some small tidbit of information to lionsbay.net. If you have a few moments and would like to be more involved with the publication then please contact us … everyone is welcome and we have plenty to do!
Lastly, none of this would be possible without the “behind the scenes” volunteers so thank you to the many people who we list on the back page of the print publication and on the website.
