Thanks to the unique painting style of renowned artist MICHAEL TICKNER,  the RICHMOND HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ENTRANCE has had a complete facelift!  Michael Tickner’s new ten inch by thirty inch painting entitled: “Safe Haven” was made into a thirty foot by ten foot mural outside the emergency exit of the Richmond Hospital.  Yesterday was the unveiling of the work and the ribbon was cut by philanthropist Arthur Block who contributed to the project and Michael Tickner. safe_haven_30x10_2up

Dr. Andrew Jakubowski and Basil Kallner were instrumental in organizing this project to change the face of the large concrete wall.  Michael Tickner was honoured to be involved and was inspired to paint an original of the docks at Steveston with the North Shore Mountains in the background.   Having the mural there has completely changed the energy of the emergency entrance and people will certainly gain a better feeling with this local Steveston scene.

The Richmond Hospital Foundation has organized a limited edition print of the image on canvas to be sold to raise further funds to go towards purchasing badly needed MRI machine for the Richmond Hospital.  The limited edition print of 200 is 10” x 30”, the same size as the original, and will be selling for $349.00 unframed.  They can be ordered through the Richmond Hospital Foundation at www.richmondhospitalfoundation.com or www.michaeltickner.com .
