Current Events Lions Bay and Area Pitch-In Canada Week
Sent on behalf of Council and the Village Office:

April 19 to 25 is Pitch-In Week and the Village is sponsoring several initiatives to encourage residents to clean up the streets and boulevards as well as assist is helping residents to get rid of unwanted items on their own property.

Pitch-In is a Canada-wide organization that provides municipalities such as ours with the tools to make our events to clean up our environment a success.  In an effort to clean up garbage and litter from our public areas, the Pitch-In organization has generously donated FREE bags to be used by residents in cleaning up the streets, boulevards and other public areas. These bags are available for pickup at the Village Office.  The program needs the active participation of our residents to make it a success!  As part of our Village Clean-Up, residents are encouraged to ADOPT-A-BLOCK and either get together with neighbours to organize a clean-it-up party or do it on their own.  Fill up the bags and leave them at the curbside for Smithrite to pick up on the next collection day.

You have probably seen orange cones magically appear at various locations throughout the Village.  On Monday & Tuesday, April 19 & 20, the Works Crew will pick up large branches piled up at these orange cones.  On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 22 to 24 residents can drop off all that stuff you love to hate and want to get rid of!  Bring it down to the Public Works Yard between 8:30 am & 2:30 pm on any of these three days and the Public Works Crew will sort it into the appropriate bins for disposal.  We ask that you do not bring any hazardous items.
