Hi Bear Watchers,
 
There were several bear sightings in the Bayview area.  A couple of residents mentioned the bear going after hummingbird and finch bird feeders, so please bring in feeders or monitor.  I saw one very large bear on Bayview at 5:30 p.m., got his photo and noticed a yellow tag in his right ear.
 
Also there is a bear on Bowen Island.  He has probably swam or floated on a log boom but a bear on Bowen is bad news.  They store their garbage outside, keep goats, chickens and ducks, have bee hives, fruit trees and bushes.  A bear will have a field day with unnatural attractants.  We are trying to educate Bowen residents about attractants but will probably not be able to save this bear from becoming habituated.  If you know anyone on Bowen, please spread the Bear Smart message or have them contact me for information.
