On a sunny Saturday in May a bucket brigade assembled to enhance the paths at the Native Plant Garden with wood chippings and bark mulch. The ‘brigade’ carefully avoided the lumbering monstrous trucks that plied up and down Lions Bay Avenue, laden with tons of new blacktop.
They worked hastily, to the tune of the great engines, with shovel and bucket, to escape the approach of the blacktoppers sweeping inexorably up the Avenue, stopping only (of course) for photo ops! Before high noon the job was done and all crew members escaped safely to their own homes.
