This summer, the hottest fundraising ticket was the Traini Family Pizza Party, where a hundred tickets raised over $1000.00 for our ESS Emergency Social Services. Our beloved hosts, Art and Lucy Traini created a gorgeous Italian Villa which beautifully reflects their passion for entertaining family and friends. With help from their fabulous family, Art and Lucy lovingly baked over 125 gourmet pizzas, using their custom built fire burning trattoria oven. This way of baking retains all the smoky savoury flavour and the Pizzas were absolutely delicious.
Made from their traditional family recipe that dates back to the renaissance, with one bite, I was magically transported back to Italy, where Pizza Lovers from all over unite.
It was an Italian Sensation; Cucina!! The Seaside setting was idyllic as the children played and swam to the sound of upbeat Latin Salsa. It was a fun and charming fundraising event and the ESS team were super well organized as they kept the icy lemonade flowing as well as vegetable platters and home baked petite desserts with fruit.
All this attention to detail allowed the rest of us to visit with one another and have some good hearted laughs as we dined “Al fresco” under the sunny skies and shady grapevine trellises. It was such a beautiful day in which our family and friends will fondly remember. Thank-you Traini family, for welcoming us into your home and hearts and for showing us all, with the greatest of ease, that whether cooking for 10 people or a 110, the key to great food is simplicity, and the ingredients are; love and good food!
